The first Offshore Wind Service Vessel of BS and ICBC Leasing was named by the godmother Sophie Schulte «WINDEA LA COUR». Poul la Cour was a Danish meteorologist and innovator for wind turbines. The naming ceremony was held on June 30th in Hamburg.
The vessel will operate at the Gemini wind farm at the Netherlands for Siemens Wind Power Service to support the production of green energy from 150 wind turbines.
The Service Operation Vessel (SOV) will improve the efficiency of service operations at offshore wind farms. It functions as a reliable and environmentally sound platform for wind farm operations and maintenance support, it can trasport and accommodate technical staff and it ensures exceptional levels of safe and reliable access to installations offshore.
